Generic Name: E: AMMONIUM LACTATE (a-MOE-nee-um LACK-tate)
Common Uses: This medicine is an emollient used to treat dry, scaly skin
and to relieve the itching that goes with this condition.
How to use this Medicine: Follow the directions for using this medicine
provided by your doctor. Apply this medicine to the affected areas and rub
in thoroughly. Wash your hands immediately after using this medicine,
unless your hands are part of the treated area. STORE THIS MEDICINE at
room temperature in a tightly-closed container, away from heat and light.
IF YOU MISS A DOSE OF THIS MEDICINE, use it as soon as possible. If it is
almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your
regular dosing schedule.
Cautions: Do not get this medicine in your eyes or on the inside of your
nose and mouth. THIS MEDICINE MAY CAUSE increased sensitivity to the sun.
Avoid exposure to the sun, sunlamps, or tanning booths until you know how
you react to this medicine. Use a sunscreen or protective clothing if you
must be outside for a prolonged period.
Possible Side Effects: SIDE EFFECTS, that may go away during treatment,
include mild redness, stinging, or burning when the medicine is applied.
If they continue or are bothersome, check with your doctor. If you notice
other effects not listed above, contact your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist.
